Out of zone enrolment

The Board of Whatawhata School is inviting Out of Zone applications for students starting school in Term 1 or 2, 2027. 

We currently have the following spaces available:

  • 3 places for Year 1 (New Entrant) students (5 year olds)

Please note: 

  • Accepted students are required to enrol between the dates 26 January to 2 June 2027

  • These numbers may change if there are additional in-zone enrolments.

Enrolments are governed by our enrolment scheme, including the following priority order for Out of Zone applications:

  1. Priority 1: Students accepted for a special program (if applicable).

  2. Priority 2: Siblings of current students.

  3. Priority 3: Siblings of former students.

  4. Priority 4: Children of former students.

  5. Priority 5: Children of Board of Trustees members or school staff.

  6. Priority 6: All other applicants.

Details on the enrolment scheme are available from our school office or the Ministry of Education’s Find My School website. 

Students who live within the school zone have the right to enrol at any time without an application.

Important Dates:

  • Application Deadline: 3 pm, Friday 16 October

  • Ballot (if required): Tuesday 20 October

  • Outcome Notification: Thursday 22 October
