Our enrolment scheme

We have an enrolment scheme in place due to the rapid growth in our area. Click on the links for a full copy of our enrolment scheme zone or our enrolment scheme policy.

An interactive map can be found here. This allows you to check for yourself whether you are in zone. You will need to enter Whatawhata in the search box

If you are out of our school zone and would like to make an enquiry please email principal@whatawhata.school.nz

Other useful information

If you are interested in enrolling at the school, please take time to have a look through the website. This will help provide you with information on our educational beliefs and practices as well as general information about the school.

Cohort entry

We are an approved cohort entry school. Cohort entry is when new entrants start school in groups through the year rather than on their fifth birthday. They can start on the first cohort date after their fifth birthday or on any other cohort date up until they turn six.

Cohort Entry dates for 2022 are
Term 1   8th February and  14th March
Term 2 - 2nd May and 7th June
Term 3 - 25th July and 29th August
Term 4 - 17th October and 21 November

See here for more information from the Ministry of Education

Getting ready for school

Make contact with the school if you are interested in enrolling your child. We'll walk you through the process and provide more information. We'll encourage you to come and visit the school, take a look around, and to meet your child's prospective teachers.

If your child is starting school for the first time we run a special transition to school programme to make their start as successful as possible. We can tell you more about this when you contact us.
