Welcome To Whatawhata School!

We are a small rural Primary School just West of Hamilton City and at the heart of the Whatawhata Community. Our Vision is To Care, Grow, and Achieve. We look to develop the whole child, empowering them to succeed in learning and life.

Our school curriculum is built around the vision where - We support children to enjoy learning the knowledge, skills, principles, and values that help them to meet the different challenges and opportunities life brings.
Our curriculum teaches all our children both learning and life skills. Staff are committed to providing the best education for all our learners.

Our size and focus on learning means we are able to develop an in-depth knowledge of their interests, strengths and needs which allows us to shape programmes accordingly.
Children develop into community members who ensure that, young and old, we all care for, support and value each other. We enjoy close relationships with our families, whaanau and the wider community.
We are committed to valuing and maintaining the unique opportunities and values of small and rural school learning.

We warmly welcome new students and family's to our school.

Kia ora Whaanau,

As we continue to grow and shape the future of our kura together, we’d love to hear your voice.

This survey is an opportunity for you to dream big with us — to share your bold ideas, hopes, and aspirations for our school, as well as your reflections on where we are now. We’re especially interested in your thoughts around four key areas:
Strengths – What are we doing well? What makes our school special? What makes you proud of school?
Challenges – What could be working better for your tamariki or whānau?
Opportunities – What possibilities could we explore to improve and innovate?
Threats – Are there any risks or barriers we need to be aware of?

We encourage blue-sky thinking — there's no idea too big or too small! Your insights will help us strengthen what matters, tackle what needs changing, and co-create a future-focused vision that supports all aakonga / learners to thrive.
