Growing, achieving and caring

Our school motto is To Grow, To Achieve, To Care. In Maori this is Kia Whakatupu, Kia Whakatutukitanga, Kia Manaaki. We believe that school is about developing the whole child so they can be successful in learning and life both now and in the future. See how we aim to help our children to grow, achieve and care through our guiding principles below.

To Grow
Kia Whakatupu

Growing is all about myself. It is about knowing who I am, what I can do and what I can be

I do my best to reach my own personal excellence

I am capable, curious and confident about what I know and what I need to know

I show the values of respect, curiosity, aroha, perseverance, mana and resilience in everything I do

To Achieve
Kia Whakatututkitanga

Achieving is all about my learning. My learning is the shared responsibility of myself, my teacher and my family

The teachers know me and understand me. We work together to make learning just right for me

I know what I am learning, how I am going and what I need to do next

My school gives me the tools and opportunities to learn in lots of different ways

I am successful, motivated and engaged

My family know how I am going and how they can help me in my learning

To Care
Kia Manaaki

Caring is all about our community. In our community we support others and are supported by them

Our school is a family where we all learn together and look after each other

I am part of a community that cares for me and supports my learning

I care for and contribute to my community and environment

We understand and celebrate all cultures within our community

We all work to maintain our school’s unique character

Kia Whakatupu, Kia Whakatutukitanga, Kia Manaaki
